Republic Transmission, LLC is an electric transmission utility company, with the mission to ensure reliable and cost-effective electric transmission in the MISO region.
Founded in 2008, Republic Transmission was selected in 2016 to develop a high-voltage transmission line from Dubois County, Indiana, to Hancock County, Kentucky. Selected by the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) from a pool of 11 other Qualified Transmission Developers, Republic Transmission is installing the Duff to Coleman Project, which is projected for completion before January 2021. We will own, operate and maintain the line.

MISO, a not-for-profit, member-based organization, ensures the most reliable and cost-effective delivery of electricity across more than 65,000 miles of high-voltage power lines in 15 U.S. states and the Canadian province of Manitoba. Each year, in its MISO Transmission Expansion Plan (MTEP), MISO evaluates regulatory policy and reliability issues, and initiates projects to relieve congestion and more efficiently deliver power to electricity consumers.
As a MISO-approved Qualified Transmission Developer, and the Selected Developer for the Duff-Coleman Project, Republic Transmission is contractually obligated to fulfill commitments regarding project quality, costs and cost recovery, technical specifications and schedule.
Interconnection with Republic Transmission
If you are interested in connecting a generator or transmission line to Republic Transmission’s system, you must meet certain facility connection and performance requirements that are established to avoid adverse impacts on reliability. Please review Republic Transmission’s Interconnection Requirements which provide an overview of the connection requirements for new interconnection customers.
