Hiple to IN/MI Border Transmission Line
Hiple to IN/MI Border Transmission Line
On May 11, 2023, MISO selected Republic Transmission (Republic) to develop, construct, own, and operate the Hiple to IN/MI State Border (HIMB) 345 kV Transmission Project. The full selection report can be read here.
The HIMB transmission line will originate at the existing Hiple Substation in LaGrange County, Indiana and extend north in LaGrange or Steuben County to the IN/MI border to a point of interconnection (POI) to be determined by the Michigan Electric Transmission Company (METC). METC will complete the Michigan portion of the transmission line from the IN/MI border POI to METC’s future Duck Lake Substation.
Republic is currently evaluating transmission line routes and will have Public Open House meetings in the future to present potential transmission line routes. Stay tuned to this website for further information.
